1) Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright of their published articles and materials in PedPer.

By submitting and publishing in PedPer, authors grant the journal a perpetual, non-exclusive license to:

  • publish, distribute, and publicly communicate the work as the original publisher;
  • identify Pedagogical Perspective (PedPer) as the original place of publication;
  • archive and preserve the work in any medium or format;
  • include the work in digital archives, indexes, repositories, and preservation systems.

2) License: Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)

All published content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, users may read, download, print, copy, and share the content for non-commercial purposes, provided that:

  • the original work is properly cited (attribution is required), and
  • the content is not modified (no derivatives/adaptations).

Commercial use and any modification/adaptation (including translations, remixes, or altered figures) require prior written permission via the journal’s permissions process.

3) Permitted Reuse (Non-Commercial)

The following uses are permitted under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, as long as the work is not modified and proper attribution is provided:

  • linking to the article page or PDF;
  • downloading and sharing the published version for educational and research purposes;
  • printing and distributing copies for non-commercial use;
  • posting the published version on personal or non-commercial academic webpages.

4) Repository Deposit (Self-Archiving)

Authors may deposit the published version of their article in non-commercial repositories (e.g., institutional repositories) or on personal academic pages, provided that:

  • the article is not modified;
  • the original publication in PedPer is clearly acknowledged; and
  • the DOI/URL to the official journal version is included.

5) Text and Data Mining (TDM)

Non-commercial text and data mining may be permitted where it does not involve redistributing derivative content and proper attribution is maintained. Requests involving commercial TDM should be directed to the journal for permission.

6) Commercial Use and Adaptations (Permission Required)

Commercial reuse and/or adaptations are not permitted under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 without written permission. Examples include:

  • reuse in commercial products or paywalled services;
  • translating the article for redistribution;
  • modifying figures/tables or creating derivative materials;
  • republication for profit or commercial marketing.

7) How to Request Permission

Requests for commercial reuse and/or adaptations should be submitted to: info@pedagogicalperspective.com
Please include:

  • article title, author(s), and DOI/URL;
  • the material requested (full article, figure/table, excerpt, etc.);
  • intended use (commercial/non-commercial), format, and distribution channel;
  • whether any modification/adaptation is proposed.

PedPer aims to respond within a reasonable timeframe. Permission may be granted with conditions (e.g., attribution requirements) or declined where the request conflicts with licensing terms or third-party rights.

8) Attribution Format (How to Cite When Reusing)

When sharing PedPer content (permitted non-commercial reuse), please cite the original publication. A recommended attribution format is:

Author(s). (Year). Title. Pedagogical Perspective (PedPer), Volume(Issue), page range (if applicable). DOI/URL. Licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

9) Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for any third-party material (e.g., figures, tables, images, datasets, long text extracts) included in their manuscripts.

Authors must:

  • secure written permission from copyright holders when the material is not covered by fair use or similar exceptions;
  • provide permission documentation upon request during submission/production;
  • ensure that reused materials do not violate copyright law.

Limited use of short quotations for criticism or review may be permissible without formal permission; however, authors must ensure compliance with applicable copyright regulations. Failure to obtain proper permissions may result in rejection of the manuscript or delays in publication.
