Dear Colleagues and Researchers,

We are pleased to announce a forthcoming special issue of Pedagogical Perspective, dedicated to showcasing pioneering research and insights presented at the TSTT 2025: International Conference — Advancing Teacher Training in the Digital Age. This special issue aims to explore how contemporary teacher education can effectively integrate digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance teaching and learning.

As we navigate an era where educators must critically evaluate and apply educational research while leveraging digital tools, the importance of teacher research literacy and innovative pedagogical strategies has never been more pronounced. The objective of this special issue is to present evidence-based solutions for improving teacher training programs, reducing the theory–practice gap, and fostering meaningful learning experiences through technology-enhanced methodologies.

Theme and Focus

This special issue will centre on innovative approaches in teacher education, emphasising the role of digital transformation and interdisciplinary methods. Contributions will address the evolving landscape of teacher training. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Teacher research literacy and its role in modern teacher training
  • Reflective approaches to bridging theory and practice in the digital era
  • The role of AI and technology in transforming teacher education
  • Critical perspectives on digital pedagogies and their effectiveness
  • Assessment and evaluation through technology-enhanced methods
  • Gamification and game-based learning for practical teacher education
  • Inclusive education and digital tools for accessibility and equity
  • Technology-enhanced CLIL and language learning applications
  • AI-driven pedagogical methods for second language instruction
  • Sustainable and adaptive frameworks for teacher training
  • Interdisciplinary education: integrating art, music, and drama into teacher development

Submission Guidelines

We invite scholars, researchers, and educators to submit original research articles, reviews, and critical perspectives that align with the conference theme. Submissions should introduce innovative methodologies, case studies, or theoretical frameworks that contribute to the discourse on preparing educators for the digital era.

Authors who presented at the TSTT 2025 Conference are welcome to submit expanded and substantially revised versions of their papers. Conference presentations do not constitute prior publication, provided the submitted manuscript represents a significant extension of the original work and the conference source is disclosed at the time of submission.

All submissions undergo the same double-blind peer review process as regular manuscripts, in accordance with PedPer’s Peer Review Policy. Guest editors coordinate the issue but do not make final acceptance decisions; the Editor-in-Chief retains ultimate editorial authority (see Thematic Issue Policy).

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: July 10, 2025
  • Peer review and revision: July–September 2025
  • Publication of Special Issue: October 2025 (Volume 4, Issue 2)

How to Submit

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors must select the relevant Special Issue during the submission process.

  • All submissions must follow APA 7th edition style guidelines and be prepared using the Author Guidelines.
  • Submission to the Special Issue does not guarantee publication.
  • The Guest Editors and Editorial Board reserve the right to request revisions or decline manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s academic standards.
  • Regular issue submissions continue to be accepted during the Special Issue call period.
  • Authors must comply with PedPer’s Publication Ethics & Malpractice standards and disclose any use of generative AI tools in accordance with the Generative AI Policy.
